Hi Everyone,
One thing that has kept me sane during all of what I have and am still going through is the past conversations that I have had. Two conversations in particular have been especially helpful. This is what I mean.
Years ago, I had the privilege of being with a pretty wealthy self-made man. There are only three people that I have mentioned him to. One is my daughter, one is a relative and the other is a man I have referred to in past blogs as, “A wise man.”
Since I just mentioned the wise man, I would like to say that we have had several conversations about my doing things myself. He has, in varying tones, told me to, “Do it yourself,” I would like to say THANK YOU!!! Your words, those words, “Do it yourself,” have always served me well since you spoke them. This is especially true for what I went through last week. Had I not heeded those words, well, things would have ended quite differently. But that’s for another blog. Let’s get back to this one. Here we go.
From the conversations I had with the self-made man, one stood out. It was the one where he told me EXACTLY how someone had sued him. I won’t get into the details, but I will say this. He was BITTER!!! He was so BITTER that even though part of me didn’t want to hear what he went through the other part me was fascinated. I mean the details that he told me, the expression on his face, the tone of his voice, every last fact was etched in his mind as if it just happened 5 minutes before but it didn’t. He was sued years earlier. It was incredible!
That conversation taught me a lot and he taught me a lot about money! A wise man has also taught me a lot about money too, but in a different way. ;D Thank you!
This is important because there will be times in all of our lives when we will hear something that we will dismiss, tune out. In one instance, one of my teachers made a random comment and I remember thinking, “I’ll never need to know that.” But as I am sure you have guessed, I did need to know and that information, something I truly believed I would never need or use has helped me tremendously more than once!
So please pay attention to what someone tells you, even if you don’t like them, or think that they aren’t worth listening too. You just never know where a conversation will lead. It could just change your life! They have mine!
Thank you for reading, A. Rebel’s Rant! ;D
