Hi Everyone,
If you’ve read more than say four of my blogs than you would know that I’m okay with sharing information. What I am NOT okay with is people hinting that I don’t, or expecting to pick my brain at their convenience. This blog is to set some much needed boundaries.
1) Don’t hint that I don’t share information because it should be ABUNDANTLY clear that I do! And it is my prerogative to share what I want with who I want, when I want. If I want to tell you something I will. Here’s a tip, don’t eat yellow snow!
2) If I mention something like a TV show or channel, a book or an event and you decide to shoot me down with, “I don’t read…”, “I don’t watch THAT channel…”, or “I’ve NEVER heard of that show….” and say it in a way that portrays you as the smart one and me the idiot, why would I mention anything else? After all, you super smart right?
3) If I mention something and it is CRYSTAL CLEAR to me that you have NO IDEA what I am talking about, why should I keep talking? No really, MY inquiring mind wants to know!
4) I’ll help you no problem but are you going to help yourself? Or do you WANT me, EXPECT me to spew information at you knowing full well that I am wasting my time and breath because unicorns and balloons are floating around your mind! Think about that!
5) I am human. To clarify that further, I am NOT a machine! Long days can make me cranky and idiots can piss me off! I value ALL levels of my health. That means that I also value my mental health. If I think you’re mental, an idiot, or I am cranky or a combination of the above I WILL AVOID you!
6) Technically, I DON’T have to do anything! That is one of the perks of living in North America. The only thing that is certain is death. That is a given. If you feel like you HAVE to do something, do it. But DO NOT, I repeat, DO NOT try to brow-beat me into something. And don’t tell anyone who will listen how I wouldn’t do something. If those people don’t tell you, you’re being an idiot they are either being kind or they too are idiots!
7) Don’t judge me for what I watch, read or give my attention to. Every one of us has a choice!
I think that just about covers it. If anything else on the topic of Sharing Information comes up, don’t worry, I will blog about it. ;D
