The Last Three Months

Hi Everyone,

The last time I blogged was on St. Patrick’s Day, now over three months ago. If anyone thought I wasn’t going to blog again, well, you were wrong. I’ve just had a lot going on. This is what I mean.

The last three months have been educational and weird. Any time there was a free computer course at the library I took it. Almost all of the courses had me brushing up on my computer skills but the time was well invested. And it’s amazing the number of people who cancel at the last minute. Since I was already there, I got a few sessions of one-on-one time with the instructor. That cut my time at the library in half.

I was at one library visiting a friend, moaning about the cost of books. A few minutes later, I was at the semi-annual book sale. I bought as many books on writing as I could. I still have four books to read. I have been doing a lot of reading. I have also been working out of my home too.

At one place I was temping at, I was in the wrong place at the right time. After I saw an old friend someone told me where I should have been. My old friend is the Harassment Representative for the union of the plant I was working at. Everyone there was really nice.

On my way home from set, I sat beside a man. He told me that he took early retirement from the Finance Department of the City of Toronto. After a few minutes he told me about his various jobs under the table. Now, I may not always like how varying arms of the government conduct themselves, but I strongly believe that everyone should claim any and all monies that they earn and receive. If people want to reap the benefits of living in a first world country I believe they should pay all their taxes. I and a lot of other law-abiding Canadians do.

With that said, there is a strike going on as I write this blog for most of the government employees in Durham Region. The union members of CUPE, which stands for Canadian Union of Public Employees, are the highest paid in the province of Ontario and they have the worst absenteeism too. Apparently the union member’s need 15 paid sick days. Hmmm. From the government employees I have seen, most of them pretend to work while they push paper and try to sell you on how hard done by they are. How a government employee can even try to convince the public that they are hard done by is not only disgusting it is insulting to the public they are paid to serve! Maybe those government employees should work at a minimum wage job with no benefits, that includes sick days, for a year. Maybe then they’ll recognize just how spoiled and petty they sound. I will stop here and leave the rest of my thoughts on government employees for other blogs which I am sure some arms of the government won’t like. But I look at it like this, if I don’t blog about their gross incompetence’s someone else will. So don’t shoot the messenger.

I have been having a lot of strange dreams lately. One dream continued a few nights later. That was a first. I can figure out most of my dreams, but a few are harder to decipher. And I know people have a hard time believing that dreams have a meaning, a message but they do. If you don’t believe me, over this past weekend, a woman dreamt that she won the lottery. Seven million dollars was waiting for her less than 24 hours later. Another woman, years ago, dreamt that she should buy a second lottery ticket with the same numbers she dreamt of. There were only three winning tickets for that draw and she had two of them. Her paying attention to her dream paid off.

I have had more deja vus in the last three months than in the last three years. If you thought the above was weird, here is something weirder. Earlier this month I was sitting on a bus minding my own business and thought, a certain person was going to call me for work while I would be waiting for my doctor’s appointment. I wanted to test that thought so I put off going to the doctors until the last minute. Sure enough, the person I thought who was going to call me for work did while I was waiting for my appointment. Just for the record, I have done that a few times before. It is just happening more often now. That and a few other things are happening more often, but those things really freak people out so I will have to keep them to myself for now.

Okay, well that’s the update. More blogs are on the way sometime this week, so stayed tuned. And of course not everyone is going to like them.

Thank you for reading, A. Rebel’s Rant! ;D
