Hi Everyone,
For anyone who hasn’t noticed sayings, adages, have been a huge part of my life. I think it started in my early teens and then it just escalated. Now not only do I have a saying for almost every situation, I also know full sayings. This is what I mean.
Most people have heard the saying, “Patience is a virtue,” but few people know the full saying. It is, “Patience is a virtue and your virtue can hurt you.” Sad but true, that is the peril of a virtue. Think about that. I am serious.
How many times in your life have you waited for a raise and/or promotion but didn’t get it? At least once right? How many times have you wanted someone in your life to do something but they just didn’t? More than once if you haven’t been living under a rock! Have you wanted someone to change something about them? The honest answer is yes! We all have. How many times have you waiting patiently in the wings, with your life on hold because someone just didn’t do something? And that something was holding you, your future, and your relationship with them back? Again the honest answer is at least once. Don’t get pissed off at them as you are reading this, this is why.
Maybe you didn’t get the raise and/or promotion because it just couldn’t happen, maybe there was something better for you but you just didn’t know it so you stopped looking, stopped trying. Like I said above, we’ve all wanted someone to do something. Maybe we didn’t communicate it to them properly. Maybe they just didn’t care to because they really didn’t know how much it meant to us if they did. They flipside is, they knew exactly how much it meant to us and they didn’t do it to spite us. Then again, maybe the person you wanted to change is really you!
The people in our lives are our best mirror. Maybe the person were patiently waiting in the wings to do something, the person who you believed was holding you, your future, your relationship with them back was really doing all that they could do. Then what?
You know what, I don’t know. I am me. You are you. My advice is this. Weigh the pros and cons. Make a list. Write everything out. Look at the list in the next 24-48 hours. See how you feel. But recognize this, everything in life is a two way street. Maybe the person you are lost your patience with lost their patience with you! Think about that. I am serious.
And then again, maybe just maybe, you have to lose some patience with yourself! Maybe just maybe, you have to do something to get your life back! I don’t know. I am me. You are you.
Thank you for reading, A. Rebel’s Rant! ;D
