Hi Everyone,
It is estimated that there are about 27 million men, women and children, (mostly women and children) who have been sold into human trafficking and/or slavery. If you read my called, Roma Gypsies, on December 14, 2012, then you would know that I met, Tamas, someone who was actually trafficked into Canada from Hungary. Tamas was first trafficked into Canada under the premise that he was going to work in construction but was instead a human slave for months. It is something that he never told me, yet did disclose to the producers of 16:9. It is a TV show produced by Global Television.
The reason that I would like to bring this to everyone’s attention is that people who are trafficked and then become slaves don’t disclose this information easily. Had I of not first recognized the surroundings, and then Tamas I would never have known that he was a victim of this growing international problem. And it is an international problem because not only does this happen in over 190 countries, we here in Canada purchase things that have a slavery footprint. That means that we buy things and/or use things that have been produced by human slaves in some way, shape or form.

Because human trafficking/slavery is so much more involved, I am encouraging you to please contact the authorities if you think that someone you know or suspect is a victim of this heinous crime. You may be saving the life of a person who doesn’t have a voice.
