Hi Everyone,
On Thursday November 22nd, 2012, The Agenda with Steve Paikin on TVO had another discussion on poverty. In this episode we get to see how it has, and in some cases, is still affecting some members of the panel.
Here is the link to this important video. It is 48:11 minutes in length and worth every second.

The book, Nickeled and Dimed: On (Not) Getting By In America, by Barbara Ehrenreich is mentioned. I read it over 7 years ago.
Another book that I read, which was not mentioned in this discussion is, The Betrayal of Work: How Low Wage Jobs Fail 35 Million Americans and Their Families, by Beth Shulman. There must have been a revision of this book because not only is the cover different from when I read it, over 7 years ago, so is the subtitle. I remember the subtitle being “…30 Million Americans…”
I highly recommend both, Nickel and Dimed and The Betrayal of Work. As I searched for them on my bookcases, I remembered that I borrowed them from my local library. 😀 (Hint)
If anyone has read, The Working Life: The Promise and Betrayal of Modern Work, by Joanne B Ciulla please send me a review.
Thank you for reading, A. Rebel’s Rant! ;D
