Hi Everyone,
People get divorced all the time but when semi or big time celebrities get divorced media spokespeople remind us when we forget and, at times, inform us of their opinion. Anytime I hear of a semi to big time celebrity getting divorced I usually shrug and continue with my day, with one exception.
About 20 years ago, I was watching an American channel before the program I wanted to watch started. Someone on the TV mentioned that so and so was getting divorced. I got up from the couch and walked into the kitchen. Still hearing their words, I stopped in mid-stride and almost ran in front of the TV. I could not believe my ears!
Not only did someone else think that getting a divorce was not the worst thing that could have happened to this once happily maried couple, that person had some very powerful words of wisdom that changed my life forever.
The first word of wisdom was that a lot of people get divorced. Not very profound but wait. The second was that NO ONE should feel sorry for so and so because this woman of three girls already had A LOT OF MONEY. And that her $20,000 plus A MONTH for child and spousal support coupled with her very generous income is more than the majority of Americans make in year! So and so’s hired help consisting of maids and nannies were a luxury that many of us only dreamt of.
The once over played sympathy towards so and so stopped immediately and she was shunned and looked down upon by everyone who heard this story. From that moment, not one semi or big-time celebrity ever got one second of sympathy from any media spokesperson. This is why.
One person, “A Bright Bulb,” saw what everyone else saw. The point of difference is that, “A Bright Bulb,” didn’t become brainwashed into believing what the media was telling her. “Poor so and so and her three children…”. That woman stated facts that I am sure so and so would have liked to remain unvoiced. So here is the rant.
How many times do we just believe whatever people are saying? Why do so few of us question what we are being told? Is it easier to go along and get along then recognize that you are being made a fool of? Is scratching below the surface really going to kill you? I think NOT scratching below the surface will!
Even people who live under rocks have heard, “Don’t believe everything you hear,” but A LOT of people don’t remember that. Somehow people get sucked into whatever some very good “salespeople” want them to believe.
My advice, question everything, and form your own opinion. Everyone is trying to sell something. Stop buying what they are selling, it might cost you more than you know.
Thank you for reading, A. Rebel’s Rant! ;D
