Everyone should read this book. This is what I mean.
When I first heard of Mark Manson’s book, The Subtle Art of Not Giving A F*ck, in 2016, I thought well, I kind of live my life like that anyway. So I didn’t buy it. Then last week one of my friends gave it to me. Even though we read a lot of books and are always recommending them to each other, I told her that I wasn’t sure if this book would help me, you know, grow, learn. But I was wrong. It did.
The first thing it did was confirm a lot of what I already think. That is always refreshing when a lot of people in society would love it if I would just go along to get along which I don’t. I will only play well with others if they make sense. Anyway….
My friend convinced me to read it because as she said, “The author has a unique way with words”. That is also refreshing. It kept me interested because I was always thinking. The Subtle Art of Not Giving A F*ck, is what editors call an easy read. And it makes a ton of sense which isn’t as common as people would like to believe.
One of my favourite chapters is, You Are Not Special. It is in the same vein as one of my past blogs titled, You’re Not Great. Another chapter I really enjoyed is, You Are Always Choosing, because we are.
If the title makes you nervous, I get it. But do not let that stop you from reading the book. Sure even my friend who has heard me swear warned me about the F-bombs in the first couple of chapters. There are quite a few times two, but read, The Subtle Art of Not Giving A F*ck, by Mark Manson, anyway. You will learn something about yourself, your society, our society. Learning when and when not to give a f*ck will make your life easier. It has mine.
