Hi Everyone,
It’s not just the rich who are time-poor. This is what I mean.
The expression money-rich, time-poor describes groups of people who have a high disposable income yet don’t have time to spend the money the have. That is not me—yet.
Every year I have about three or four periods of a few weeks of little-to-no-time. It is like everything happens at once and I am juggling every part of my life while I get ahead. (Notice I did not say, trying to get ahead?) It may not always be fun, yet the challenge of getting everything done in a day or less, tests me and I love that. It keeps life interesting while it keeps me on my toes! It also helps me sleep. Trust me when you are running your butt off, scheduling and re-scheduling your life, asking for all kinds of favours your mind and body are ready for rest!
Some days I tell myself,” I just have to make it to Wednesday 1:00pm. As long as I can get to 1:00pm I can relax while in transit.” Less than 24 hours later I was telling myself, “As long as I can get through Friday, I can relax.” For anyone who is interested, I, “had Thursday off” to visit my parents. No rest for the wicked!
I am writing this now because I have time. Since Friday I also caught up on some of my reading, cleaning and well life. Seeing people after being time-poor really makes me appreciate them. I feel lighter, laugh easier, and am more fun knowing that hanging out is my well-deserved reward. Work hard and play harder.
Don’t get me wrong, I was not sitting on my laurels basking in nothingness. Saturday and Sunday still had a list of things that had to be done. It’s just that the list was spread over two days. Having a loose list of things to do, meaning things I could do at my convenience, was amazing. Today was another productive day and tomorrow has its own list. After that, the rest of the week is again a loose list of things that must get done. I just have the convenience of doing them when I want. I am, however, very much looking forward to Christmas so I can really relax!
Being time-poor isn’t always fun. If I had to pick though, I would rather greet each day with a purpose, than be a rudderless soul filing my days mind-numbing activities.
Thank you for reading, A. Rebel’s Rant! ;D
