Hi Everyone,
Today is New Year’s Eve. A lot of us will be making New Year’s Resolutions. Some of those resolutions will stick and then, as you have guessed some will not. Some resolutions are ones we have made before. Others will be new. And then there are some people who will not make resolutions at all. Everyone is different. In the whole scheme of things, we are more the same than not. Resolutions have nothing to do with it. This is what I mean.
Each of us has the ability to become distracted. Okay, so I’ve blogged about this before. And there is a reason that I am blogging about distraction today, New Year’s Eve. It is simple and I remind myself of it often.
When I get distracted, have more on my plate than maybe I should, or create for myself, I remember what Tony Robbins said in one of his YouTube videos. It is, “How you do anything is how you do everything.” Think about that. That’s powerful. I am serious. Plus, it makes sense.
Do you keep your word? If not with one person, you probably won’t with another. Do you start something only to stop doing it? If you do it with one thing, you probably do it with anything, maybe even everything. When someone asks you if you are going to do something, do you tell them, “I know, I was going to do that in a minute,” but 15 minutes or more have gone by? Again if you do it with one thing, you probably do it with everything. I think everyone knows what I mean. We’ve all done it. We’ve all noticed that nothing gets done when it should.
I’ve done the above. I also had a very low success rate. That’s why it’s an old habit. Although I stopped that behaviour before I heard Tony Robbins say it in a video, the saying, “How I do anything is how I do everything,” is a gentle reminder to keep me on track. I always try to keep a positive attitude about what needs to be done while I’m at it too.
For anyone who hasn’t already guessed, I couldn’t find the YouTube video. When I find it, I’ll put it in a blog.
Until then, Happy New Year Everyone! I won’t be blogging for a couple of days, so there’s your head’s up. Be safe.
