Sometimes you just have to say it like it is. Hence today’s blog. This is what I mean.
Am I the only person who has noticed that every second interview with a woman, their blouses are unbuttoned and breasts ready to pop out of them? If this in vogue, what happens when their breasts go rogue? Do they believe that they have to lead with their chest, which is basically one step away from leading with sex? I don’t know about everyone else, but I think I would have an easier time respecting and taking them seriously if they were wearing pasties. With that said, let’s talk about how hot and humid it has been lately.
When the weather is unbearable, I, like so many others, have stopped wearing a bra. The thought of one more layer of clothing to sweat through and stick to any part of my body makes me want to cringe. And yes, I know what I wrote above, yet I would like to point out that when I do go braless, I am wearing a t-shirt that is dark enough that it hints at my being braless. I am merely trying to keep cool, not display my navel which is generally several inches from one’s vagina.
Has anyone noticed that Sasha Exeter has yet to post anything re: Black Lives Matter on her Instagram account? She has a growing platform, why isn’t she using it to promote a cause she accused Jessica Mulroney of not supporting? And what makes her, or anyone, believe that they have the right to suggest that people with platforms should use them to promote things? If someone suggests that I do something I don’t want to, or don’t have time for, or that isn’t on my radar, I don’t do it. Not only is that my right it is supposed to be the right of every Canadian. Apparently Black Lives Matter was on Sasha Exeter’s radar when she pulled the race card. The only thing she is doing on her Instagram account is trying to find ways to line her and her daughter’s pockets with Joe Fresh ads and other forms of shameless promotions.
On June 23, 2020, Ben Mulroney said that he was ‘surprised by the lack of support’ amid his wife’s scandal. Just for the record, I am not surprised. Most people are shallow and will move to whatever camp they feel will serve them best even if it is for the short-term. And let’s face it, not only are a lot of people fake friends and short-term thinkers, they are along for the ride. The second they are required to step up, they step down. Val Walker recently published a book called, 400 Friends and No One to Call: Breaking Through Isolation and Building Community. Finding and building a new community can be a great thing.
Now that the world has fallen off its axis, I am very mindful of where I spend my time and my money. And I am not alone. Not only are people starting to protest with their wallets, Hollywood has decided that the best way to protect its bottom-line is to hire only BIpoc, Black, Indigenous and people of colour whether they are qualified or not. If you don’t believe me, read this article called, Hollywood’s Identity Crisis: Actor’s, Writer’s and Producer’s Warn of ‘Reverse Racism’ in the Film Industry Which Has Created A ‘Toxic’ Climate for Anyone Who Is a White, Middle-Aged Man.
