The nice thing about the Chinese New Year is that it rarely starts on the same day. As long as the Lunar Calendar varies, so does the date. Another nice thing is that the holiday, also known as the Spring Festival, lasts until the 15th of the next month. In this case, the New Year clebrations will end on February 15th, 2020. This year the celebrations will revolve around the Year of the Rat.
Just as we Westerns have 12 astrological signs that have certain characteristics, the Chinese have 12 Zodiac signs. Keep in mind though that unlike our astrological signs that have fixed beginnings and endings, each zodiac sign begins and ends on different days. The length of the sign will never be the same. The year of the Rat will last from today, January 25th, 2020 until February 11th, 2021.
People born during the Year of the Rat are considered to be instinctive, acute and alert which makes them to be brilliant businessmen or businesswomen. They can always react properly before the worst circumstances take place. They are also sophisticated and popular in social interaction. They are sanguine and very adaptable, being popular with others. Their strengths are known to be adaptable, smart, cautious, acute, alert, positive, flexible, outgoing, and cheerful. Their weaknesses, however, are thought to be that they are timid, unstable, stubborn, picky, lack of persistence, and are whiners.
Their best love matches are Ox, Dragon and Moneky and the worst are Horse and Rooster. Of course there always some exceptions. Prince Harry is a Rat and Megan Markel is a Rooster so who knows? Anyway…
The Chinese Zodiac is not etched in stone. There have been a lot of times when I have questioned its accuracy. It is fun to read what may or may not happen, who I may or may not get along with. If the Zodiac cautions me about my health I do pay a bit more attention because health is wealth. Plus it never hurts to safe rather than sorry.
For more information on the Chinese Zodiac do an online search. You never know what you will discover about yourself and those in your life.
If you are born in the Year of the Rat I wish you well. Have a great year! And for those who need to start their year again, this is a great time!
