Hi Everyone,
Mother’s Day is tomorrow so there is still time to get out there and get what you need. If you are stuck, here is a link from Canadian Family and it is titled, 7 Last Minute Mother’s Day Gift Ideas. Here it is,
http://www.canadianfamily.ca/activities/7-last-minute-mothers-day-gift-ideas/
IF in case the above isn’t as helpful as you would like I have a few tips.
First ASK your mother what she would really LOVE for Mother’s Day. She’s probably already told you a couple of times but just in case she hasn’t, or you haven’t been paying attention, ASK her. Believe me, there is nothing worse than receiving a gift that you absolutely despise. This goes for any time of the year by the way.
The most common things mothers want are the following in varying orders,
- A card. It can be store bought or handmade. The handmade one’s go over the best because they seem more thoughtful, personalized.
- A full night’s sleep.
- Peace, translated meaning NO fighting with anyone especially your mother.
- Food meaning a late brunch, (because she has slept in) and anything else she doesn’t have to make. As a head’s up, not even single mothers want to cook for the family on Mother’s Day.
- Flowers that she likes or loves. If you don’t already know what her favourite flower or flowers are you may have to ask a few questions to find out.
- Gift certificates to one or more places that she can use to pamper herself. Pampering oneself is open to interpretation. Personally, I would love to get a gift certificate to a book store over anything else. Other mother’s may want to have a day at the spa or a simple manicure and pedicure, If you are going to take the time to get her a gift certificate, I would recommend finding out what kind she wants first.
- Since I sold fragrances for over 15 years for a variety of companies I am also going to recommend fragrances as a gift. Most companies have gift sets for Mother’s Day. If in case they are all sold out, there is usually a free gift whether it is in a gift basket or not. BUT make sure you know what fragrance your mother LOVES before you buy her one.
Some stores are open 24 hours. I hope that helps.
