I started A. Rebel’s Rant on November 13, 2012. When I first started this blog, I admit that I was pretty clueless. To a certain extent I still am. Code is not my thing. In fact, a lot of things relating to computer programs aren’t. (Here’s a link to an earlier blog, http://arebelsrant.com/revamping-the-blog/ )
So far I have managed to struggle through learning things that I would have rather paid someone else to do. If it weren’t for that wise man telling me to, “Do it yourself,” and my heeding his advice I probably would have. The learning curve has taught me more than I am willing to admit to. As I did a quick review of the blogs and the categories that they are in, I noticed a few errors. For example, some blogs are in two categories when they should be in one. It took me a while to figure out that there was a default category. This is a bit of a problem.
I am not sure how many blogs I have written but I think it is over a hundred. Most of those blogs are in the right categories and then I have to deal with the above. I am still learning. That is why the blog is a work-in-progress.
On Thursday of last week, I added an RSS feed, which is free to anyone who subscribes. And yes, the blog has subscribers.
Another thing that I did last Thursday was add the copyright protection to the blog. That was a nightmare! Even though I have done a lot of reading on copyright infringements I still believed that adding the copyright protection to A. Rebel’s Rant was a necessary evil.
Learning about copyrights is actually kind of fun. It is a good thing that I enjoy it because the laws governing copyrights change all the time to the benefit of, in this case, the author.
With those things done, I have started to work out some new titles for categories. As a new category is added I will gradually begin to add blogs pertaining to it. I am telling everyone this because this necessary evil is A LOT of work.
Right now the weather is great and I am going to enjoy it for the next few days. I am still reading things that I would rather not. Instead of my going to my room, I am heading outside. When it starts raining I’ll begin putting blogs in the new categories. That will be in the next few days.
