The Law of Attraction

Hi Everyone,

Whether we know it or not the law of attraction is always working to give us exactly what we want, whether we want it or not. So if something in your life isn’t going the way that you would like, you asked for it. This is what I mean.

Have you ever said, “I don’t want to be late,” and then you are? Or, “I can’t forget to…,” and then you forgot? Of course there were times when shortly after you thought of someone, you saw them or they contacted you. Or let’s say you needed something and the next thing you know, someone gives it to you or a store has it on sale for almost free. That was the law of attraction at work of giving you what you wanted. Why is this? It is all in the wording.

The Law of Attraction (some people like to call it The Secret) is the basis for many metaphysical laws. Since I have been reading and practicing metaphysics for years (before The Secret) you would think that I know this well. And I do. I cannot tell you how many times I wanted or needed something and it appeared out of thin air.

Once I desperately needed a new apartment that fit into the geographical boundaries of where my daughter wanted to go to high school. And on the last day of registration I got one! Someone in one of the apartment buildings I approached gave their notice after the first of the month. At the time, the superintendent had no idea the tenants wanted to move, but kept my number and called me.

But get this, not only did I know I was going to find an apartment in time, the second I stepped onto a street, (I had walked for hours, in the freezing rain I might add, with a map of the boundaries in my pocket), I just knew that I would find an apartment on that street! And I did. (Actually my finding an apartment the next or same day has happened to me on two other occasions.)That is just one great example of many positive responses I have received from the Law of Attraction. The negative responses aren’t very pleasant.

Sometimes, I have a tendency to  attract some very interesting people in my life, who I have had some very interesting experiences with. Unfortunately, not all of those experiences are have been good.

Even when I am in the “midst” of something, I have had the tendency to try to “fix” the situation so that it will be mutually beneficial. This is what I mean.

Sensing that a new female friend that I had met last year, had other interests, I would repeatedly tell her, “You know I’m into men right?” Or, “You know I’m heterosexual right?” Or, “You know I’m straight right?” Since I have had several similar experiences in the past, I would repeat my sexuality anytime I felt she needed to be reminded, like every few weeks. And every time she would say, “Oh I know! So am I! Straight as an arrow!” Or a version of the above. One time, when I felt that she really needed a very strong reminder, I tersely said, “You know I like COCK RIGHT?!?” Not very lady like I know, but remember, I am trying to “fix” the situation.

But as I am sure you have guessed, the situation was “unfix-able.” One day, when I must have seemed vulnerable, she decided to give me a BIG hug, BIG smile, lift my hair and kiss the inside of my neck! Everyone, in every gender and sexuality, knows that when this happens, a boundary has been crossed! That was the first time that anyone has CROSSED the line that I CLEARLY and REPEATEDLY stated!

I remained calm, went into my apartment and promptly had two long shots of ice cold Jagermeister before going to bed alone. The Law of Attraction was giving me an opportunity to have a relationship, that is for sure, it just wasn’t with a heterosexual male!

In my 30 plus years of working with the public, (most of those years selling fragrances and skin care,) I have worked with and meet all kinds of people. Heterosexuals, asexuals, (people who aren’t interested in any kind of sex or relationship other than friendship with either sex), transvestites, bi-sexuals, lesbians, gay men and one person who was in the last stages of a gender reconstruction.

As a human, I understand that different people have different preferences and decide to act on their feelings and decisions. I RESPECT ALL people for wanting to be who they want to be even when they may be unsure. I would just like to be respected for my decision to be and remain a heterosexual woman until my dying breath! Especially since I have REPEATEDLY told someone I am! (Here’s the link to a blog I posted on Catfishing, http://arebelsrant.com/catfishing-and-social-media/ )

The above is just one example of how I can attract “interesting” things and circumstances into my life along with the repercussions of those “interesting” things and circumstances meaning my trying to “fix” situations. With that said, yesterday, I decided to reread, The Law of Attraction.

While I was rereading the book I realized one way of how I truly do attract everything into my life, good, bad or ugly. I also remembered that everything in life happens FOR us, and not TO us. That means that whatever is happening in our lives is an opportunity for us to grow and to learn.

Well, I have learned A LOT about myself and those around me, that is for sure! One thing is the wording of what I want so that The Law of Attraction will always give me a positive experience and lesson because we will always get what we give.

Is this a rant? Yes! This is especially true if you cannot understand why your past or present relationships have not or are not working the way you thought they would. The Law of Attraction also applies to every other situation in your life, like a job, money etc.

Outside of rereading books, I have little interest in revisiting the other parts of my past. And in all honesty, my blogging about love and relationships for the last several days, has made me reevaluate a lot of things. This and the other blogs that I have posted this week have given me every answer I sought.

If you want to learn more about this, the book I reread is called, Law of Attraction, and the subtitle is, The Science of Attracting More of What You Want and Less of What You Don’t, by Michael J. Losier. From the other books that I have read on metaphysics, I consider this to be an overview of The Law of Attraction, but sometimes that is all we need.

For anyone who would like to read or reread my blog titled, Beware of New Year’s Resolutions which also refers to the law of attraction, here is the link, http://arebelsrant.com/beware-of-new-years-resolutions-d/

Thank you for reading A. Rebel’s Rant!  ;D
