Hi Everyone,
It is said that we learn something new every day. Most of the things that we learn are by accident meaning that we hear or see something simply because we were paying attention. Then there are things that we want to learn because the topic or person interests us. But then there are the evil necessities of life. They are the things that we MUST learn in order to move ourselves forward.
I don’t know about the rest of the world, but I prefer the first two as opposed to the latter. Learning something that I have little to no interest in can be boring. Boring is rarely anyone’s friend. This is especially true if it MUST be done.
The best way I have found to combat the above is to go to my room. This is why.
I LOVE my room. There are candles everywhere, it is painted in my favourite colour and there are no electronics to distract me. I am also surrounded by my favourite books, pictures and prints. My bed has piles of pillows and that makes it easy to get comfortable.
And that is what I do. I get comfortable. My thinking is I may as well be as comfortable as possible if I’m going to do something I don’t want to yet MUST do to move forward.
Right now I am reading a book that is printed in English but that means nothing to me. The terminology sounds like a different language. After reading a few sentences I groan, because I either have to reread what I just read, or I recognize the mistakes I have been making for months.
One time I actually stuck my tongue out at the page. Yes, this is another way that I entertain myself when I am frustrated or bored. ;D That silly act kept me reading though.
If it is one thing I have learned it is this. Even when the learning curve feels like an up-hill battle I am slowly connecting the dots and the dots are moving closer together. That makes it worth it, and less boring.
As I am moving myself forward, I am learning the lingo along the way. Who knows maybe this boring topic will lead to someone finding me more interesting. For anyone who doesn’t know, I am referring to a past blog. Here’s the link, http://arebelsrant.com/revealing-the-hidden-message-d/
