Hi Everyone,
By definition, a habit is a settled way of behaving, something done frequently and almost without thinking; something that is hard to give up. Each of us has a habit and not all of them are good. If we want to, habits are easier to break, change than one may think. This is what I mean.
I think we can all agree that some habits are not good for us. Some of us want to change those habits. Others don’t. Everyone is different. Some people may nag us into changing our habits. Just for the record, nagging anyone for anything has a very low success rate. In my experience, logic with a caring, empathetic tone work best. It also helps if the person recognizes how their habit is affecting them and possibly others.
Pundits suggest that to break one habit is to replace it with another. According to yesterday’s episode of Doc Zone, Slaves to Habit, that is not always the case. Or at least that is what the experts on the show stated. The link is below. It is 45:11 minutes in length. If you decide to watch it and are a regular reader of my blog, than you will notice that Charles Duhigg, the author of, The Power of Habit: Why We Do What We Do in Life and Business is interviewed. I am telling you this because I have mentioned the book in a previous blog.

There are so many habits a person can choose, decide to have. Again, not all of them are good. On the surface, some of our habits may even seem like they aren’t that bad, but they can be. The problem is that not everyone chooses to scratch the surface. Surface is superficial. Scratching the surface means you are ready to get real.
For anyone who hasn’t already guessed, I’m in a pretty good mood and this blog leads to the next few. The probability of them being as kind as this are next to none. There’s your head’s up. Before I go, I’d like to say that people are known for their habits. What do you want to be known for?
