Reasons to Rant

Hi Everyone,

I am just over half way through, People Are Idiots And I Can Prove It!, by Larry Winget. One thing that I really like about the book is that Larry rants very well! Every rant I read has made me laugh! Even the one on smoking and I smoke. (For anyone who doesn’t know what I mean, here’s the link to that blog, http://arebelsrant.com/book-people-are-idiots-and-i-can-prove-it/ )

I wish I could rant like that and get away with it. Actually I do rant like that in my head and to my daughter. She is the only one that I know of who can handle the truth. Anyone else, no. Even people who are 10-30 plus years her senior can’t handle the truth. If I ranted at them, they would think that I am mean and tell anyone who would listen how mean I am.

You know I have had times in my life when I didn’t like what I heard. Everyone has. I’m thick skinned. I also recognize constructive criticism. Even if I didn’t always like what I heard or how it was said, I thought about it and took those comments as ways to better my life. And those comments did better my life.

Sometimes I just think, “Really! You think that is okay? What if I did that to you? Would it be okay? Wait, let me just do that and see how you feel? ” Then after a few nano-seconds I get away from them. Why? There are people who just can’t handle the truth. They never have and they never will.

I remember a woman was always complaining that she was broke. I kindly said, “Maybe you should stop eating out.” That didn’t go over well. Even though I said those few words in the nicest, softest way, I mean I couldn’t have been any nicer or softer about it, she still got pissed off at me and told anyone who would listen how mean I was.

That is just one of COUNTLESS examples.  If people just toughened up a little and actually listened to some constructive criticism, the world would be a happier place for all involved, including them.

You can tell someone something, but you can’t make them think! In case you don’t know, I posted a blog with part of that in the title. It’s a great read. 🙂  Here’s the link, http://arebelsrant.com/you-cant-make-them-think/.

Thank you for reading, A. Rebel’s Rant! ;D
