Are You Drinking More Alcohol?

Hi Everyone,

Apparently I am in the minority. This is what I mean.

According to a recent study, people all over the world are drinking more alcohol. I am serious. But is it any wonder? I mean the weather is crap on a good day. I am currently wearing thick socks, and three layers. And that was under my winter coat. When I was outside I pulled the hood of my coat and my hoodie over my head.I also wore my winter boots. Did I mention it is raining and super cold? That alone screams hot toddy!

The economy is always a great reason to have a drink. People celebrate the good times and cry in their drinks during the bad. For whatever reason some people will always find a reason to drink. And I have to tell you I have seen people get really creative with their budgets just so they can afford the drinks they can’t afford. I have also known people with children spend their whole pay cheques and not pay their rent for months just so they could buy drinks for themselves and other people they don’t like for a few fleeting moments of supposed fun. And really how much can you like yourself or your children when you are willing to sacrifice more than one of your whole pay cheques for alcohol? And not pay rent, in some cases for months? Really?

Do I dare mention the health factors? Okay since I am not a doctor, let me just state for anyone who has not read my last blog that alcohol has a lot of sugar in it. Sugar in large quantities will have you gaining weight and not where you would want to. Belly fat is a huge problem. Not only do even small amounts of belly fat look gross it is super hard to get rid of. That is why there are a kazillion lose belly fat products on the market and the market is increasing all the time. You know, just like the bellies of every society.

Alcohol is expensive. Sure a single isn’t much if you are only buying a single every once in a while. But how do you measure time? Is once in a while more often than it should be? For some people once in a while is all the time, and even that is not always enough.

Now that I back from holidays I am barely drinking. Apparently I am in the minority.
