Does Anyone Actually Talk Any More?

Hi Everyone,

So yesterday as I was running some errands, I stopped to speak with a young woman I have known for years. As we were catching up, I asked her if she was dating anyone. She said that she was talking with someone.

Since she is two decades younger than me and that generation communicates differently, I asked her if it was on the phone and if voices were involved. Her answer was no. When she said talking, she explained to me that it was via Face Book, texting, etc.

To me, talking is when people move their mouths, and the spoken word leaves their lips in a volume that reflects their emotions to the person they are speaking with. That is talking. Talking is not pushing buttons, touching a keyboard, or clicking a mouse etc.

Now I when I speak with my Ex it is on the telephone, my mouth moves and the spoken word leaves my lips in a volume that reflects my emotions at the time. That way he knows EXACTLY what I am saying and EXACTLY how I feel about whatever we are discussing. And over the last while, we have discussed everything.

You know the good, the bad and the (very) ugly parts of our past, present and future together. If we didn’t speak on the telephone with the spoken word leaving our lips, something at some point would eventually get miscommunicated. Besides, how else can one communicate their emotions properly? They can’t.

That is why a lot of people find themselves saying, “I never meant that…” , “I didn’t mean it like that….”  or, “Why don’t they understand…”  Okay I admit, some people are as thick as bricks but you get the picture.  ;D

So here is the tip of the day that anyone who reads this blog can use for the rest of their lives, TALK on a phone with the spoken word leaving your lips in a volume that reflects your emotions. That way, the probability of something at some point getting miscommunicated is greatly decreased. Just saying!

This is a rant by the way. And for anyone who would like to read a blog related to this one, I posted one on March 16th called, A Different Type of Hermit. Here is the link, http://arebelsrant.com/a-different-type-of-hermit/

Thank you for reading, A. Rebel’s Rant! ;D
