New Years Resolutions VS Goal Setting

Hi Everyone,

If I had to pick between New Years resolutions and goal setting, I pick goal setting. This is why.

New Years resolutions are generally thought of at the end of one year, made on the first day of the next and broken shortly after. Sure you can always use the Chinese New Year to re-start your year, if you aren’t Chinese that is, but if you are then you are S.O.L. Goals can be set any time of the day and any day of the year which is so much better. Having a little (or a lot of) flexibility goes a long way when you want to accomplish something. I do it all the time.

You know how it is, just when you think you have at least a couple of things figured out, and the next two or more hours of your day are scheduled, they aren’t and you have to start juggling more things than you want in less time than you have! My biggest struggle is getting a hold of everyone affected. Yes, never a dull moment.

Every day is like a new adventure!

That is why I have daily and weekly goals. You know for the times when life has a mind of its own and I am desperately trying to keep mine.

This year has been challenging and I have to admit, I have loved it! It took me a while, but I have not only achieved one of my biggest goals this year, I have exceeded it! It wasn’t always good, great or glamorous but it is done! I can breathe a heck of a lot easier in 2019 and focus my energies on my other goals. And I guess that is the thing. Now that I have removed one major and some minor negatives, the positives are easier to achieve. I am sure that there will still be a few unexpected bumps on my path and that’s okay. With most of the ground work done, a few bumps will keep life interesting.  ;D

Goal setting is easier than people think. Without knowing it, we do it all the time. Obstacles that enter our day can be easily overcome with hopefully a little persistence.

I hope 2018 has been good to everyone and I hope 2019 will be even better. Happy New Year!

P.S.

It has been just over 1,100 days when someone I care about suggested that I could live my dream everyday. Thank you.  ;D
