Who Are These People?

Hi Everyone,

The below examples are why I enjoy being at home. This is what I mean.

Everyone knows that exercise is good for us and my favourite form of exercise is walking. As I was walking along I passed a garbage and recycling combo  that was on fire. Instead of just walking away, I went to the closest restuarant, conveniently located less than 10 metres from the fire, and told the first person I saw about it and then asked for a large plastic cup filled with water to put the fire out. The woman behind the bar ignored me and walked into the kitchen. After a few seconds I began looking around and a man, who I am guessing was her boss, came out. He asked me why I wanted the water, I told him and he told me to call the fire department. I looked at him and said, “If I have to call the fire department because the fire has taken over the recycling bins I am going to tell them I asked you for water and how you wouldn’t give it to me. And just as a heads up, I am on your and the strip malls surveillance cameras.” It took me far longer than I would have liked yet I got the water and put out the fire.

Everyone has to eat but one customer really got on my nerves. As I was in the grocery store’s supposed fast lane of 1-16 items, a person a few people in front of me asked if someone in the line behind her wanted to pay for her few small ticket groceries. I am serioius. I just looked at her and said, “You have the money.” She smiled back and again asked the people in the growing line who wanted to pay for her groceries. When no one offered, and the with the cashier and the even longer line of people behind her staring her down and giving her cut-eye, she pulled out her wallet. Not only did she pay for her groceries, she got over $10 of change back. I knew it. I called it.

Everyone has to leave their homes and get out and about every once in a while. One day last week, as I was going to work on the TTC streetcar, a female older than myself, started screaming like a four-year-old girl because she saw a bug. I can’t make this $*!% up. As one scream followed the other, she began pointed. It was then that I told her she was being ridiculous because she was. Of course right after I said that, her drama just escalated. I moved as far away from her as possible and let the other passengers talk her off the ledge.

I could go on, yet I won’t. Life is short.
