Book: Love, Lust & Faking It by Jenny McCarthy

Hi Everyone,

I love this book and I highly recommend you read it and buy a copy for a friend. This is what I mean.

I have read this book twice. The first time was in August 2012 and then again last week and I still burst out laughing at pretty much the same spots I did when I first read it. Jenny McCarthy’s, Love, Lust & Faking It: The Naked Truth About Sex, Lies and True Romance, is honest, hilarious, insightful and an easy read.

Jenny shares some funky stories about herself along with some interesting ways we all could improve our lives. You know, have a better understanding of ourselves. My favourite is, Everything we do is for ourselves and no one else, because it is true. And I love the example. Here is the excerpt.

A friend of mine who has a ten-year-old son disagrees with this point. “That can’t be true all the time. I do things for my son, like take him to a good school to get an excellent education. That’s for him,” she told me recently. I answered, “Why do you take him to a good school to get an education?” She responded, “Well, because I want him to have ample opportunities in life.” I responded, “Exactly my point. Look at the last sentence. ‘I want him to have ample opportunities.’ Your child didn’t ask you for it. You are doing it for you, but you think you are doing it for him.”

And that is the thing, there is nothing that we do without thinking of ourselves first. Everything we do is really about us! If I do something for someone else it is because I want to. When you love someone, you do things to make them happy and that makes you happy or happier. No one can control your emotions so get that out of your head. You and only you are in control of your feelings, actions and life.

The above is only one of many interesting ways that people see their actions. Please read the book for other great examples. Love, Lust & Faking It: The Naked Truth About Sex, Lies And True Romance, by Jenny McCarthy is a fabulous book and again highly recommend it for you and someone you love.

If I don’t get a chance to blog, have a happy St. Valentine’s Day everyone.

Thank you for reading, A.Rebel’s Rant!  ;D

P.S.

The reason I know when I read this book last is because I generally write the date and a few comments on one of the blank pages in the front of each book I read.

And for anyone who is interested, the economist, Ayn Rand, has said on several occasions that every time she did something for her husband, she was really doing it for herself.
