Do You Know Your Place?

Hi Everyone,

Considering the title of this blog, and my last few blogs, I am sure some people are wondering if I know my place. I believe I do and this is why.

I HATE drama and avoid it all costs. For anyone who doesn’t know what I mean, I wrote a blog called, Dealing with DRAMA!!! Here’s the link to that blog, http://arebelsrant.com/dealing-with-drama-2/

With that said, the ONLY time that I allow myself to get involved in something is when it directly affects, not indirectly, BUT directly affects me. And there is a world of difference between something directly and indirectly affecting someone.

So yes, I’m going to blog about not having heat because I’m directly affected by that. If you have heat where you live, or have control of your heat, good for you. I don’t. Not everyone does. That was the point of the blog. To make people aware of a situation that they may not know about.

Up until yesterday, I’ve gotten along quite well with my landlord since I moved here over 3.5 years ago. Because of that, something that I forgot to put in yesterday’s blog is this. I asked my landlord, “(His name), human to human, would you please let me borrow a heater because I am really freezing in here?” When he gave me a flat out no and then hung up me shortly after I was pissed off. But guess what? You would be too!

Sure I could have bought a portable heater, but I decided not to because I’m not living here forever. I’ll just continue to “heat” my apartment for the next few days. I am not the first nor will I be the last person to heat an area with an oven. If you were as cold as I was, you would do the same thing too! People have been doing that for centuries. Let’s hope that never happens to you.

Just for the record, I am paying my way. No one or organization pays for anything that I do or any of my bills. All of my expenses come from my pocket! PERIOD!

Wednesday’s blog called, Little Girl, served another purpose. I didn’t like someone thinking that they could pull a fast one on me at my expense. But guess what? FEW of us do! That is why I clearly stated how I handled the situation so that other people in a same or similar situation could use that as, for a lack of a better word, a guide. That blog was meant to empower people when they or someone they know feels, or believes they are powerless.

This blog and pretty much every blog I have and will post are designed to inform people. Whether that means a blog is informing them of their rights as individuals, how to handle a situation, why vitamins can be dangerous, a YouTube video to inspire, an audio book to educate, or whatever.

Drama, gossip, and pettiness are, in my opinion, stupid. Anytime I believe that someone is trying to get me to agree with them or they are gossiping, I tell them, “That’s not my place.”

I think a lot of things, but I truly say very little. If someone tells me something and ASKS my opinion, I will tell them, “I don’t think that’s my/your place.” If they ask why, I’ll tell them, but they usually know what I mean.

My place is here. I am here to reveal the truth that some people would rather ignore. This is part of my purpose.  Not everyone is going to like every blog and I’m okay with that. The first rule of business is, “You can’t please everyone all of the time. And if you try, you’ll go bankrupt.” The first rule of life is, “Be yourself.”
