Happy Canada Day!!! ;D

Hi Everyone,

For anyone who has forgotten, or doesn’t know, like my American and international readers, (Say Hey!) this Sunday is Canada Day! It’s the BIGGEST NATIONAL HOLIDAY because well it is Canada’s Birthday! How old will Canada be? Compared to most to countries, she’s pretty young, like 146 years young! Don’t let her youthfulness fool you though.

Russia may be the largest land mass, but Canada is a close second with much to offer. You want mountains? Hot springs? The big city life? Prairies? Tundra? Need a lake? One of the seven wonders of the world? (Niagara Falls!) An ocean? We have three for you to choose from. You name we Canadians have it ALL!!! And we are PROUD!!!

Canadians are known for being polite and for being fair. July 1st, may be on a Sunday this year, but we’ll still have Monday off, meaning that we’ll still have a long weekend!!! Some people have already started theirs! Have you?

If not, then there are a few things that you’ll need to know. Every Canada Day that I know of always included some form of alcohol. So load up before Monday, because all of the liquor stores will be closed. The same goes for banks, grocery stores, libraries, and any other government office or anything else that is affiliated to a government office. You know what? Just consider the whole country as being shut down, WITH the exception of the Toronto Eaton Centre. That place only closes for Christmas and New Year’s Day.

Need to get somewhere? If I were you I would check out all the construction, since that’s a necessary evil for summer. (Errr) But seriously, if you need or want to get away and you need public transportation, then just remember that EVERYTHING will be working on their holiday schedule for one if not both days. So that’s your head’s up! ;D

Most of Canada will be having their fireworks on Sunday, but I would check that just to make sure. Ottawa, the capital always has the best fireworks, but that’s my opinion. I hear that Keswick has some great fireworks too.

Since I never know where all of my readers are here are a few links to help you out. The first one is for Ottawa,
