It’s The Largest Organ

Hi Everyone,

Happy Sunday! This blog might not seem like it is serious, however, I would like everyone to seriously consider doing what I do at least a few times a year. This is what I mean.

For anyone who doesn’t already know, our skin is actually our largest organ. Don’t believe me if you want, but it is true. Anyone who has been in the beauty industry knows this. That is why people who are, or have been in the beauty industry always talk about skin. The skin on our face is the one that people seem to focus on because people tend to see that area of our body the most. In my opinion, ALL of our skin is important. Because I feel so strongly about all of my skin, I’ll share a regime that I now do at least once a month.

This routine takes a bit of planning and some supplies, but it is WORTH IT!!! I love doing this and the results are AMAZING!!! Since I have been doing this for years, I always make sure I have everything I need and the time to do it properly. Here’s my beauty routine for SUPER SOFT SKIN!!!  ;D

The first thing I do is have a super hot bath at the hottest temperature I can stand for as long as I can handle. This really opens the pores on the skin. After I can’t take the heat any more, I grab a towel and tap my skin dry as the bath tub drains. Then I get my body exfoliating milk and I start to scrub my body from my toes up my calf to my thighs ALWAYS in an UPWARD motion. The reason you want to scrub in an upwards motion is to increase the circulation of your blood going to your heart. I know this because I was in the beauty industry and that’s what they told me at one of my training classes. Circulation of any kind is always great for our bodies, which means our health!

For my arms I start at my finger tips, move up my arm and for my pelvic area, and back, for as much as I can reach on my own that is, I start wherever I left off from my legs and arms. Now when I scrub in the upwards motion, I SCRUB!!! Sometimes I think I take one of my seven layers of skin off. Once I have exfoliated as much of my body as I can manage I dampen a body sponge, put a little bit of shower gel on it and SCRUB my body, again starting at my toes and ALWAYS moving in an UPWARDS motion. Then I have a shower, put more shower gel on the body sponge and scrub my body again. That means that I have SCRUBBED my body three times, and ALWAYS in the UPWARDS motion. If I have time, I sometimes have another bath to open up my SCRUBBED pores.

After that, I again, tap my skin dry, and then I SLATHER as much of my body as I can with the deepest, thickest, body CREAM, not lotion, I have. Because I put on so much body CREAM, I have to walk around butt naked for about 5-10 minutes just so the body CREAM can start to soak into my body. When I think the body cream has soaked into my body, I put on a thick pair of old sweat pants and sweat shirt and go to bed. The next morning my skin is SUPER SOFT and it STAYS that way for about a month. This is probably because I have taken a layer of skin off by SCRUBBING my body three times. I recommend doing this the day before you change the sheets on your bed and doing it about once a month if you can. Not only will your skin LOVE it but you will too! And if you are in a relationship or want to be in one, then this is a good way to get to know someone better. ;D

I used to do this once a week, but now that I have another way to get my skin super soft, I only do this once a month. And yes, I will share that little skin care secret with in the coming blogs. ;D The whole process for me takes about 30-45 minutes. I use the Lait De Gommage, Gentle Exfoliating Milk from Biotherm. Now I will say I used to work for Biotherm, BUT I have used other exfoliating products in the past, and this is the one I like the most because in my opinion, it works the best and smells the best too! I use body cream that is sold mostly during the winter because those ones are made to really penetrate the skin thereby protecting it from the elements of winter and the heating systems found in most of our homes.

The caveat for the Lait De Gommage, Gentle Exfoliating Milk is that it has grapefruit in it. The reason I am telling you that is because if you have a heart condition of any kind, STAY AWAY from anything that has grapefruit in it. That means, don’t eat grapefruits, don’t drink grapefruit juice and don’t use any products, including vitamins if they have grapefruit in it because it will negatively react to your body. In some cases, grapefruit will prevent heart medication from working entirely. I thought I mentioned the grapefruit thing in a past blog, but I can’t seem to find it if I have. Either way, just remember that and if I were you, I would check any vitamins you are taking if you are also on any kind of medication to ensure the vitamins are not one or more adverse effects.

Before I leave I would really like everyone to consider doing the above. As I mentioned earlier, not only is it great for your skin and your skin will LOVE it, it will make you feel better about yourself.
