The Year of the Snake ;D

Hi Everyone,

For anyone who doesn’t know, today is the Chinese New Year. Since the Chinese follow a lunar calendar, some years can be shorter or longer than our 365 or 366 days. Either way, today is the beginning of the Year of the Snake.

Every year and every sign is a huge event for the Chinese. A growing number of them travel hundreds or thousands of kilometres from their city jobs to go back to their villages. Most of those people, due to the distance they travel, will also take 2 weeks off.

But one thing is for sure, all of them know their Chinese horoscope. And just for the record, so do I. For those who know that their sign will be in trouble this year, they would have started preparing for hard times years in advance. Others, knowing that this will be a good to great year for them, have been waiting for the good times.

If the Chinese Zodiac is new to you, here is an overview. It has 12 animals and those 12 animals represent a year. And like our horoscope each sign has its strengths, weaknesses, and compatibilities to the other signs.

Here is a link if you want to learn more about the Chinese Zodiac, what your sign is and what the “experts” are predicting for you this year,

And if you are like me and LOVE fireworks, (of all kinds) here is a link to some of the fireworks in Beijing. This 6:15 minute video is taken from a high rise balcony and it shows just how much the Chinese love fireworks too! ;D

If your Western calendar New Year could have had a better start, then use this one to start again. Just make like a snake and shed your old skin!   ;D

Happy Chinese New Year, the Year of the Snake and as always,

Thank you for reading, A. Rebel’s Rant! ;D
