Personal Hygiene People!

Hi Everyone,

Okay everyone, I recognize that a lot of people are busy but when it comes to personal hygiene, I think we should all take a little care in remembering that when we go out in society, you know the BIG BAD WORLD outside of our living space, that we do a few things to not only make our lives easier, but to also make the lives of others that we interact with easier too. This is what I mean.

So one day, I am standing on the cheap bus and I thought where is that smell coming from? My belief was it had to be someone on the bus because that was a brand new bus. Brand new buses do not have a stale smell to them. In my opinion, the stale smell was coming from someone on the bus. As a means of saving my sanity, I always douse myself in fragrance. So every time I smelt that stale smell, I actually smelt my clothes as a way to rid myself of that stale smell. I am serious.

Another day, I actually stood beside someone who had CLEARLY not brushed their teeth! Up until I discovered, through our conversation, that this person had CLEARLY not brushed their teeth, we actually had a good conversation. But when I smelt of smell of unbrushed teeth, and then later saw the plague of unbrushed teeth on this person’s teeth, I have to tell you, it was distracting. The first distraction was the smell of their unbrushed teeth and the second distraction was the PLAGUE on their teeth that I could SEE!!!

That was obviously as interesting bus trip. Part of me wanted to tell the person, “You know, you really should at the very least chew some gum, because it is readily apparent that you haven’t BRUSHED your teeth!” But I didn’t. The reason for this is how do I know what is going on in that person’s life? I don’t. So I didn’t say a word. That means that I not only didn’t speak to them, I limited my speaking to them when they spoke to me! But as usual, I thought I’d save the best or the worst in this case, for last.

So I was sitting on the train and while speaking with someone, I couldn’t help but notice that their skin looked like they hadn’t bathed or showered for a few days. A few moments later, I firmly believe that I saw an eighth layer of skin growing on the surface of their body! It was like I was witnessing all of the oils on their body and the everyday dirt and grime of pollution from vehicles and cigarette smoke beginning to form another layer of skin! It was gross! Just for the record, I’d like to say that I don’t do drugs and I wasn’t drinking that day, just so everyone knows. ;D

Now the question of the day is do the people who smell stale, don’t brush their teeth and not bathe or shower for a few days do this on a regular basis? If so do they use air fresheners etc. to mask the smells of their living environments and their lack of personal hygiene or do they just make society at large SUFFER for their lack of personal hygiene? Seriously I want to know. I also want to know if those people are getting laid! If they are, they must be getting from people who lack standards!

If I can have a five minute shower when I’m in a hurry why can’t other people? I make a point of brushing my teeth, why can’t other people? If I think my clothes smell stale, I spray something on them or if I have time, I steam them with my clothes steamer. I am serious. So why can’t other people? I get that people are time poor. I’m time poor everyday but when I go out into the BIG BAD WORLD, I believe that I look presentable, I always try to put my best foot forward and even if I haven’t had a shower in the last 24 hours, I ALWAYS brush my teeth!
